To nurture souls through inspiring hearts, guiding hands, and educating minds in truth
<aside> <img src="/icons/arrow-right-basic_purple.svg" alt="/icons/arrow-right-basic_purple.svg" width="40px" /> Heart Hand Mind is first and foremost a community of families who are dedicated to nurturing souls. We believe in nurturing the souls of all individuals. To do that we inspire hearts, guide hands, and educate minds in truth.
When souls are nurtured in this way, young children are taught to discern truth from error; elementary children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn to work hard on their interests and passions; and scholar-age youth are mentored to discover and live their purpose. Nurtured souls ultimately have the capacity to create strong families and thriving communities that withstand any evil that may encroach upon the liberties and truths we hold dear.

The heart is where truth is felt and instilled into our character, so inspiring hearts is our core foundational principle—If it doesn’t inspire our hearts with truth and goodness, then we don’t require it. We turn to uplifting music, art, poetry, story, humor, nature, and service to fill and inspire our hearts. Inspiring hearts is the core focus of the Junior Classes.

<aside> 🙏🏼 We guide hands. We believe hard work nurtures souls. Thus, we progress our mission of nurturing souls by guiding hands to work hard and discover new experiences, ideas, and truths through project-based learning, hands-on simulations, outdoor exploration, and more. Guiding hands is the aim of our Love of Learner and Transition to Scholar Classes.

It is only when hearts and hands are filled and focused that we aim our efforts on expanding and educating the minds of those we nurture. Nurtured minds are those filled with ideas from the classics and our rich world history. These souls know how to learn new skills, problem-solve, and see from another’s perspective. Educating minds is the focus of our Scholar Classes.

At Heart Hand Mind, we provide classes for children of all ages. Children who are 0 - 11 years old participate in our Junior Program, which consists of Sprouts, Explorers, Love of Learners, and Transition to Scholars. Sprouts are our youngest Junior Class, Explorers are our second youngest Junior class, and Love of Learners are students who are 8 - 11 years old. Our Transition to Scholar Class is a part of our Junior Program and includes students between the ages of 11-13.
Our Sprout and Explorer classes inspire hearts by focusing on the languages of the heart, which we define as uplifting music, art, poetry, story, literature, humor, nature, and service. Mentors of our Explorer classes use topics from the Well-Educated Heart’s monthly rotation to focus their class discussions and activities. They lead an activity that inspires their own hearts and invite the children to join with them. There is free time to play and explore, as this aligns with TJED’s Core Phase.
As children progress through TJED’s educational phases, inspiring hearts continues to be foundational to each class; however, Love of Learners dive into project-based experiences where they can experience a variety of topics. Mentors of Love of Learners prepare classes with a little more structure than our Explorer classes. They guide Love of Learners to try new things and present them with new experiences, all of which should spark curiosity for diving deeper.
The Transition to Scholar Class is the culminating class in our Junior Program. Transition to Scholar students are exploring what it is like to be in Scholar Phase, but are very much still in their Love of Learning Phase. They continue their project-based learning from Love of Learning classes but are also invited to complete homework as they try out entry-level, Scholar-type coursework.

Students who are 12 - 18 years old participate in our Scholar Program. Our Scholars take inspiring hearts and guiding hands further by stepping into academics and educating themselves in a classic-based way. Scholars and Mentors at this phase of learning follow TJED’s “7 Keys of Great Teaching.” Our Scholar Program consists of classes broken up by scholar phases and by interest, as deemed by the needs of the current students, the Scholar Committee, and the Principle Mentor.
